Halle Stanley

My name is Halle Stanley, and I’m a rising junior at Western Carolina University, where I’m pursuing a major in Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting and a minor in Film Studies. But my journey doesn’t stop there—I bring a unique blend of experiences to the table.

Growing up, I had the privilege of calling different corners of the globe my home and immersing myself in diverse cultures and languages. I spent my middle school years divided between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, my high school years in Germany, and my college years in Poland and the USA. Living overseas for most of my youth has gifted me with a unique perspective on interpersonal and intercultural communication. This immersion in various cultures has not only shaped my worldview, but has also equipped me with invaluable skills in adaptability, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.

But let’s not forget my roots. I was born in a small town in North Carolina, by the name of Clarkton with my mother and we lived on a farm. I owe my life to this town, as it has given me yet another unique experience of the world. I value people and their stories and I would like to dedicate a part of my career to sharing those stories through the art of film.

From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the power of storytelling. More so, I invest my time in learning from different perspectives through the eyes of cinema. Majoring in Communications has given me the resources to fine-tune the skills I already have and to polish myself as a future employee.

Moving forward, my academic and career goals in broadcast television production are well-defined. I aim to specialize as a camera operator, using my passion for visual storytelling to capture resonating narratives. Additionally, I am eager to develop my skills in technical directing in a news control room. In the world of video production, I seek to be challenged by this industry to not only inform, but inspire, and unite communities with the use of storytelling worldwide.
